Agra Fort, the symbol of strength and power stands in glory and attracts sightseers. The fort is also known as "Fort Rouge", "Lal –Qila", or "Qila-i-Akbari." The fort built in red sandstone and marbles is regarded as the finest example of Mughal forts. The grandiose Agra fort's construction was initiated by Emperor Akbar as a military camp in the year 1565. The fort was then converted as a palace by Emperor Shah Jahan, the grandson of Emperor Akbar. The main attraction of the part includes the iconic buildings like Shish Mahal (Mirror Palace), Diwan-e-Khas (Hall of private audiences), and Diwan-e-aam (Hall of the general audience). The fort's entry is Amar Singh gate which was constructed to confuse trespassers. The dogleg-like gate is the only entry point to the fort. The visit should visit the fort according to the timing. The Agra fort timings are between 6.am and 7 pm, so plan your visit according to Agra fort timings.
