Tata Tea Museum

Munnar is blessed with plenty of best places and Tata Tea Museum is one of the must-visit Munnar attractions. The plantations and the museum display the milestones of Munnar's history in tea plantations. It is always better to plan a full day visit to the plantations because that helps you to learn a lot. A half an hour documentary is screened which provides details on the tea culture brought out by the British,  the machinery and tools, the complete procedures of cultivating, harvesting, drying, and packaging of Tea. The tea museum also has a display of typewriters, the hand tea roller, magneto phone, and manual calculators, and an iron oven which were used in the past. This is one of the unavoidable Munnar attractions.

To reach the Tata Tea Museum, take the road to Munnar and the destination is just about 12 kilometers from Munnar town.

Pay just Rs.20/- at the counter to get your ticket to take photographs of the place in total peace. For anyone below 12 years of age, the ticket is Rs 35/- per head. Whereas, for above 12 and adults, the rate is Rs75/- as of now. Please note that Mondays stand to be a holiday for the museum, so it is better you program the trip for the other days of the week. Oh, by the way, you get one hour to explore the place and make your exit. The Museum is open between 10 am to 2 pm. If you are a tea lover, this is a haven. Just pay Rs 100/- and taste various tea flavors that are brewed at the venue itself.
