It comprises two main markets including the Chawri Bazaar and Kinari Bazaar.  selling everything from jewelry to textiles and paper products. The street got its name from the square-shaped pool situated in the middle of the market. This pool shimmers in the moonlight and thus the market was named "Chandini Chawk."
