Danum Valley

Replete with rare tropical flora and fauna, Danum valley – a 438 square kilometer conservation area – is one of the topmost attractions in Malaysia. You can find many endangered species like clouded leopard, banteng, orangutan, proboscis monkey and so on in here. It is estimated that there are more than 270 bird species in the reserved forest. A nature enthusiast will be thrilled at the variety and rarity of the flora and fauna here. Another attraction is the three ancient Kadazandusun burial sites in the Danum valley. You can find belian coffins and ceramic spirit jars used by the ancients in this historic site. Moreover, the area is also one of the most important rainforest research establishments in South East Asia.
