Christmas Tour Packages To Kerala & Other Tourist Destinations

One of the most visited places during Christmas time in India is Manali. The thick snow-covered landscape and pine trees here allude to that in Europe. During the holidays, the tourism center awakens from its slumber and is filled with activities and celebrations. When the land is covered in Christmas lights, it has an unforgettable glow. You can involve in skiing, trekking, and other adventures during your time here.

If you wish to travel to south India, Kochi will be the best choice to spend your Christmas holidays. Kochi, especially Fort Kochi, has a long history of colonial rule. Many churches here are built during this period and hence have Portuguese and Dutch styles of architecture. The land had also imbibed these foreign cultures and is evident in their celebrations. Christmas is celebrated with much flair here. There are some unique customs in Kochi during the time. At the start of December, they build a colossal effigy called Pappanji — Portuguese for grandfather — and burn it on new year’s eve. It symbolizes the end of the year.

Pondichery is another tourist location to spend your Christmas holidays. Previously a colony of the French, the place has many European attributes. The French-style churches celebrate Christmas with night masses and cribs made lively with decorative lighting. There is an annual Christmas market known as Marche de Noel. It has many homemade artifacts that you can buy. The streets are blanketed with decorative lighting and you can find decorated Christmas trees on every corner.

If you want to celebrate your holidays, you can head to Goa. The festivities here never end. Night parties in bars, pubs, and beaches are not the only attractions here during Christmas. Goa also has cathedrals like Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral, and Santa Cruz church that welcomes Christmas with midnight masses and carol songs. Hence the place has the reputation of one of the best places to celebrate Christmas in India.

If you want to go to the North-East part of India to celebrate your holidays, Shillong in Meghalaya is the best place. As the land has a considerable population of Christians, Christmas is celebrated with much zeal. It offers a variety of activities for tourists during this time of the year. Mary Help of Christians Cathedral, one of the most beautiful churches in Shillong, is the place to be during Christmas eve. With its high arches and stained glass windows, the grandeur of the church is sure to enthrall you. By December, the church is covered in decorative lights. Cool climate, alluring lighting, and the carol songs make the very air of Shillong festive.

Another great place to celebrate Christmas in India is Mumbai. The malls, markets, and even the footpaths are illuminated in the city during this time. Everyone is in a festive mode towards the end of the year and hence there are celebrations all around. Basilica of Our lady of the Mount and St. Thomas Cathedral are the prominent churches in the region where you can attend the midnight mass. Christmas trees, decorated cribs and people dressed up as Santa Claus creates an aura that is at once convivial and awe-inspiring.
