Padmanabhapuram Palace is an architectural wonder. This masterpiece lies at Thuckalay, a place between Trivandrum and Kanyakumari. The mystical beauty of the palace is the hidden treasures like the mahogany musical bow, windows that are colored mica, royal chairs from the East and the famous ‘Thaikkottaram’ otherwise known as the Queen Mother’s palace which has beautifully painted ceilings. The Durbar Hall secret underground passages, the King's medicinal bed, mural paintings, pictures of Lord Krishna, a temple of Goddess Saraswati, open-air swimming baths, are other attractions of the palace.
